11 years on, Garden View Waqf Mall still ‘under construction’

Hyderabad(Hyd): In a classic complaint of the govt apathy, the 7-floor structure (with 2-floors in basement) ‘Garden See Wakf Mall’ was “under building” for over a decade. With heavy rains wreaking havoc across Hyderabad(Hyd) over the past couple of days, the incomplete apartment has as of now becomes a breeding field for mosquitoes with its basement almost entirely filling with rainwater.

The under building apartment is adjacent to the Haj Home in Nampally, & was in that position from nearly 11 yrs. The TS Police Housing Corporation, that is engaged in main developmental projects.

Previously, the state govt had ruled to help the Minority Welfare schemes with the rentals & said that the apartment would be leased out for commercial consumption. Although, it thereafter ruled to utilize the apartment as space for rest branches that are located in various parts of the city.

Talking on the problem, previous year state H.M Mahmood Ali stated that a thorough procedure would be taken up by inviting tenders for the apartment’s completion. “We hope that the TS Police Housing Corporation, that has great engineers, going to take (2) up this work (5) within the open bidding. A state of the art apartment won’t only home offices linked to Minorities, however could also be leased to different govt offices,” he added further.

Till now, multiple meetings were conducted between govt authorities, however clearly nothing has bore fruit. The building of the ‘Garden See Wakf Mall’ in reality had started during this time of Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, previous chief minister of the erstwhile state of AP, who laid the foundation stone of the apartment in 2009.

Numerous times, the problem had also being rised within the state Assembly by this All India(In) Majilise-Ittehadul Muslimeen floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, who stated that it could be utilized for minorities. “The main structure has been finished regarding six yrs. back, however postpones in completing the project has changed the apartment’s basement into a breeding field for mosquitos as of now,” stated Syed Murtuza, a regional social activist.

Murtuza added further that in case the apartment’s basement is not clarified shortly, the structure going to becomes weak. From 2001, the 11-storey Haj Home apartment with the name ‘Razzack Manzil’, was housing the state Minorities offices, like Haj committee, Waqf Board, Minority Finance Corporation, Urdu Academy, Quazzat (marriage certificate) workplace & some of the different offices.
