4 prisoners undergoing Covid treatment at Hyderabad hospital escape

Hyderabad(Hyd), August 27 : 4 prisoners undergoing medication for COVID-19-19 in Gandhi hospital (3) here escaped within the wee hours on Thu., authorities stated.

The inmates escaped after reportedly deleting the iron grills of a bathroom’s window on the 2nd floor of the main apartment of the government-run hospital (3), where they have been undergoing medication.

Police suspect that the incident happened about three a.m. Special groups were formed to track down the escaped convicts.

The police are scanning the CCTV footage in the hospital (3) building. Sr. police authorities are interrogating just how the prisoners managed to flee in spite of tight security in the ability.

Awhile 2 prisoners have been undertrials from Chanchalguda Central Prison, the different 2 have been convicts who have been serving their own sentence in Cherlapally jail. 1 of them has been moved to Gandhi hospital (3) after he’d contracted the COVID-19 infection awhile undergoing medication in Govt Hospital (3) for Mental Care in Erragadda here.

The 4 has been amongst 10 prisoners to have tested positive(+ve) for the infection & have been undergoing medication in the hospital (3) for the past couple of days.
