Alleged drug peddler Zaid Vilatra sent to NCB custody till Sept 9

Mumbai (Bombay): The Esplanade Court on Thu. sent Zaid Vilatra, a claimed drug peddler who has been detained in a complaint linked to Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise, to the Narcotics Curb Bureau’s (NCB) custody until Sep 9.

Vilatra has been detained after NCB uncovered his own linkages with Abbas Lakhani, who was captured within the star’s demise complaint.

Within the court today, NCB argued that Zaid has been detained in connection with the star’s demise.

“He’s informed us the names of 2 people within the Sushant complaint. We’ve recovered 59 grams of cannabis from that charged that is a non-commercial quantity. We’ve recovered a massive number of INR 9.55 lakh, the foreign currency of over USD 2,000 & some of the UAE Dinars. Although this is a non-commercial quantity & is available currently this is a complaint where the Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act, segment 27 read with 29 is made out so we insist custody as many as Sep 10,” the People Prosecutor appearing for NCB reported the court.

“We need to interrogate to whom he sold the drugs & for just how much. He’s given an announcement regarding 2 people linked to the Sushant complaint,” he stated.

Zaid’s lawyer Tarak Sayyad registered an application in court & stated that whatever announcement Zaid has given to NCB is not true (or) voluntary.

“He’s not given a voluntary announcement & it’s false. He stated in court that he wasn’t ill-treated because he has been pressurised to say so by this NCB. There is no reference of 2 people linked to Sushant complaint within the remand application,” he stated.

As per the NCB, Zaid revealed that he runs an eatery shop in Bandra, that wasn’t granting any pecuniary gains from lock-down.

“He also revealed that he was into drug peddling specially bud, using that he habituated to earn a significant number of amount,” it stated.

The NCB initiated an inquiry after it got officer communication from Enforcement Directorate (ED), in that there have been different chats linked to drug usage, procurement, consumption & transportation in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput complaint.

The agency detained Lakhani & the other human called Karn Arora & captured bud (curated marijuana) from their own ownership.

“In a separate incident, on the intervening night Aug 27-28, on the basis of a particular input, a raid has been held in Mumbai (Bombay) & 2 people namely Abbas Lakhani & Karn Arora have been detained & bud (curated marijuana) has been captured from their own ownership. The elaborated network analysis & in follow up inquiry, uncovered the linkages of Abbas Lakhani with 1 Zaid Vilatra,” read a declare by this NCB.
