Procurement season for all this crops was specified even though all this Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBKs) have also being announced as procurement centers.

Per quintal, chillies going to purchased for an MSP of INR 7,000, turmeric INR 6,850, lentils INR 6,000 & green grams INR 7,196 amongst remaining.

In 10 days of buy, farmers going to receive their own amount.

“First time any govt has declared MSP for chilli, turmeric, sweet orange.

minor-millets, banana & onion,” stated Agriculture Marketing Special Commissioner P. S. Pradyumna.

He stated the state govt has declared a quite aggressive procurement policy, involving organizing procurement centers in each village in see of the COVID-19 epidemic.

“Probably AP is the 1st state where a farmer won’t be needing to go out of the village to sell his own generate,” he stated.

In some of the special instances, Padyumna stated procurement going to also be carried out in the farm gate.

As per the marketing commissioner, the state govt procured commodities value INR 3,300 cr in 2019, purchasing 8.1 lakh metric tonne, excluding paddy, that is being managed by a separate company.

Set to begin from Oct 15, the govt expects to procure as many as 3.5 lakh tonne of generate in 2024 – 21.

Using the MSP, the govt ensures farmers that it’ll buy their own crops even within the event of an uncompetitive cost, with preference to small & marginal farmers.

“The State Govt going to intervene & procure farm generate using RBK’s to create competition within the market to make sure best costs to farmers for their own generate,” he stated.

With the procurement policy, the CM envisages that competition going to rise within the market to benefit the farmers to fetch a best cost.

“If required, the govt itself going to purchase the farmers’ generate using RBKs to rise competition for their own benefit,” stated Reddy.

Although, he requested to the farmers to bring their own generate for procurement with min. rules.

To enable the govt to purchase their own generate, farmers have to register their own information on e-karshak & enroll themselves with village agriculture assistants (or) horticulture assistants in the RBKs.
