Raipur, August 6 (PTI) A nine-year-old lady, who’s tested COVID-19 positive, has been reportedly abused by a sweeper in a private hospital (3) in Raipur on Thu., a police officer said.
The incident occurred within the in the morning in the hospital (3) that has been designated as a COVID-19 medication center, under Khamtarai PS (police station) region, he stated.
The charged, detected as Kanhaiyalal Nishad (45), has been thereafter detained, Raipur Sr. Supervisor of Police (SSP) Ajay Yadav informed PTI.
“The sufferer, who has been confessed to the hospital (3) after testing positive(+ve) for the infection on Aug 2, had gone to a washroom there to brush her teeth when the charged reportedly abused her,” he stated.
After being cautioned regarding the incident, a police tandem approached the hospital (3) & taken furthermore action, he stated.
The charged has been detained & booked under segment 354 (assault (or) offender enforce to lady with aim to outrage her modesty) of the IPC & provisions of the Protection of Kids from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, Yadav stated, adding that furthermore inquiry into the issue is in progress.
