C’garh: 2 held for robbery-cum-murder outside ATM in Raigarh

Raigarh: 2 Bihar(BR)-based people have been detained for reportedly robbing INR 14.50 lakh money outdoor an ATM kiosk after shooting passed a money van driver & wounding a guard in Raigarh dist. in Chhattisgarh(CG), a police officer said on Sat..

The charged, detected as Sudhir Kumar (23) & Pintu Verma nicknamed Virat Singh (18), have been apprehended on Fri. night from Kerajhar village within the dist. in 10 hours of the incident, Raigarh Supervisor of Police Santosh Singh stated.

“The robbery-cum-murder occurred on Fri. in about two prime minister when the van had come to replenish money within the ATM of State Bank of India(In) in Azad chowk in Kirodimal Nagar town,” he stated.

When the procedure to deposit the money into the ATM machine has been on, the 2 motorcycle-borne armed robbers approached the location & opened fire in driver Arvind Patel & gunman Vinod Patel, he stated.

Subsequently, they decamped with a bag including money of INR 13 lakh & money of INR 1.50 lakh kept within the money tray of the ATM machine, he stated.

Awhile Arvind Patel passed away on the location, Vinod Patel who sustained bullet wounds within the incident, has been confessed to a regional hospital (3), he added further.

Shortly after the incident, police sealed the entry & exit points of the dist. & set up 50 check-points to search every & each vehicle.

At the least 8 police groups have been engaged within the hunt for the charged, Singh stated.

After investigating the CCTV footage of multiple places, it has been affirmed that the charged didn’t leave the dist..

Meantime, the intelligence branch got inputs regarding the presence of 2 suspects in Kerajhar village, following that a tandem of 50 armed police personnel held a raid, he stated.

“The 2 charged, natives of Bihar(BR), have been captured from a rented home. One such charged pointed a gun in the police personnel, however has been overpowered,” he stated.

During this interrogation, the duo disclosed that they’d carried out a reccee of the overall dist. for 15 days & kept an eye on the movement of the money van for 4 days before executing their own schedule, he stated.

The looted number of INR 14.50 lakh, 2 pistols, 2 country-made pistols, 3 magazines with 26 live rounds, 2 live cartridges & 2 knives have been recovered from them, he stated.

In the last, Sudhir has been also reportedly engaged in a failed robbery bid in a branch of Union Bank of India(In) on Raigarh-Dhimrapur road, he stated.

A complaint was lodged in this connection, the SP stated adding that furthermore inquiry into the issue is in progress.
