Habbu Maulvi nicknamed Shakir Raja Qureshi (44) has been detained on Sun. from Kotmi Sonar village, JP Gupta, SHO (SHO) of Bilaspur’s Sipat PS (police station) stated.
“Last week, the sufferer’s parents, who hail from Mungeli dist., had lodged a zero FIR that has been transferred to Sipat PS (police station) on Sat.,” he stated.
“According to the case, in Jul previous year, the sufferer, who has been suffering from some of the unfamiliar ailment, has been taken by her parents to a dargah in Baloda village of Janjgir-Champa where they met charged Qureshi,” the SHO stated.
The charged inquired the lady’s parents to drop her in his own rented home in Luthra village of Sipat claiming he’d cure her utilizing sorcery, he stated.
“He reportedly sexually attacked the lady there for a mo & threatened her with dire consequence in case she disclosed the ordeal to anybody. Even after the lady repatriated house, the charged initiated checking there & reportedly raped her. After her parents had come to really know of it, they registered a case,” he stated.
Qureshi was charged under sections 376 (rape) & 506 (offender intimidation) of IPC & sections of Protection of Kids from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, the officer added further.
