Coronavirus: 1st case of coronavirus confirmed in Sacramento County, says officials

Sacramento County health authorities have confirmed the 1st case of travel-related 2019 novel coronavirus in the county.

The Sacramento County resident had traveled from China.

The individual, an adult, returned into the U.S. on Feb. 2.

According to Sacramento County Public Health, the individual has self-quarantined because of returning and took steps. Throughout this time, the individual started displaying”mild symptoms,” officials explained.

Sacramento County Public Health coordinated testing together with the California Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention after speaking to their physician.

“Presently, the person is asymptomatic, but will stay home for compulsory isolation until eliminated from Sacramento County Public Health. Sacramento County Public Health’s analysis determined that now, the people’s risk of exposure is very low,” health officials said in a statement.
