Denied ambulance service, family transports body on bicycle

Belagavi (Karnataka(KA)): With no 1 allegedly coming to their own aid because of the COVID-19 scare.

As the video footage of the incident went viral.

the Congress state unit flayed the govt for its “apathy” to give an ambulance to transport the body.

Spreading the video footage on Twitter.

Congress state chief D K Shivakumar wrote.

“Relatives of a 70-year-old human who passed away in Kittur, Belagavi had to carry the body for cremation on a bicycle in heavy rains.”

Questioning the govt, he stated “CM B S Yediyurappa.

where is your govt? Why has been an ambulance not given? ….. Government lacks humanity & was a overall failure in handling the epidemic.”

As per the family (4) members, the person had fever for 2 days & the medical tandem in the regional primary healthcare advised the family (4) to confess him to hospital (3) as he has been demonstrating COVID-19 signs.

As the family (4) equipped to take (2) him to hospital (3), he passed away.

The family (4) stated they’d dialled the urgency number for an ambulance however there has been no reaction.

The neighbors too didn’t come to their own aid because of COVID-19 scare,they said.

Finally, the family (4) ruled to carry the body on a bicycle amidst rains & taken it to the cremation field for the past rites.

Govt & hospital (3) authorities weren’t immediately available for comment.
