First direct Israel-UAE flight lands in Abu Dhabi amid deal

Abu Dhabi: A Star of David-adorned El Al plane has landed in Abu Dhabi after flying in from Israel, carrying a high-ranking American & Israeli delegation within the first-ever direct commercial passenger airplane to the United Arab Emirates.

The Israeli flag carrier’s airplane Mon. marks the implementation of the historical U.S.-brokered deal to normalize relations between the 2 countries & solidifies long-clandestine ties that have evolved over yrs. of revealed enmity toward Iran.

With the U.S. as a matchmaker, Israel & the UAE accepted previously this mo to work (5) toward normalization, that would make the UAE the 3rd Arab country to have complete relations with Israel, after Egypt & Jordan.

Mon.’s 3 hours, 20-minute airplane saw the El Al plane fly using Saudi Arabia airspace & over the kingdom’s capital, Riyadh.

That signals the possibility the kingdom can frequently permit these airplanes, that would make them viable commercially. Otherwise, airplanes would want to take (2) 7 hours to detour, burning extra jet fuel.
