GHMC demolishes unauthorised structures at Gurukul lands

Hyderabad(Hyd): In continuation of its ongoing drive over unauthorised structures, the Greater Hyderabad(Hyd) Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Wed. razed the other 5 illegal structures on the Gurukul Trust lands taking the overall no. of demolitions to 34.

Following the directives of the Telangana (TL) High Court, GHMC has embarked on a spree of demolitions. Corporation razed 34 structures & 3 basements in 3 days.

GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar said that the Town Scheduling Wing of Chandanagar circle took up demolitions on Gurukul Trust lands with 3 groups utilizing 11 compressors, 3 gas cutters & 2 JCBs. The apartments razed included 5 basements, 3 full ground-level structures & 3 ongoing constructions.

The commissioner added further that the GHMC’s special drive over unauthorised structures going to continue. Lokesh Kumar advised residents to avoid constructing apartments without approvals. “They’d otherwise suffer an irreparable loss,” he alerted.
