The youth has been safeguarding agriculture fields from wild animals with her dad, when a wild tusker that may have strayed into the village from neighboring TN state assaulted the dad & daughter duo.
Sonia, with her dad Murugan has been sleeping in their own agriculture fields in Parthichenu village under Kuppam Mandal, when they woke as many as the sounds of the tusker damaging the crop. They attempted to drive the pachyderm far away however the wild animal assaulted the duo killing Sonia on the location & leaving Murugan seriously wounded. He has been dashed to a regional govt hospital (3) for medication.
Chittoor Divisional Forest official Sankar suspected that the wild tusker may have entered the village from TN forest region. He added further that the village is just 500 meters far from TN forests.
