Gujarat: Fire breaks out at ONGC plant in Hazira

Sura: A main fire erupted within the Oil & Normal Gas Corporation’s gas processing plant in Hazira in Gujarat(GJ)’s Surat dist. within the early hours of Thu., authorities stated.

No casualty recorded

There has been no record of any casualty, they stated.

“The fire erupted within the inlet gas terminal of the plant following 3 massive blasts in 3.05 am. No different sector within the region has been affected,” Surat Collector Dhaval Patel stated.

Fire vehicles of the ONGC, Surat Municipal Corporation & regional industrial units dashed to the location & took the blaze under curb, he stated.

The compressed gas has been depressurised to curb the fire, the collector stated.

Plant secured

The inlet gas terminal where the fire erupted has been cordoned off & the plant secured, he stated.

The cause of the fire going to be ascertained after cooling activities are finished, he added further.

The ONGC in a tweet stated, “A fire has been noticed within the Hazira Gas processing plant within the in the morning today. Fire was took under curb. There is no casualty (or) wound to any human.
