HC questions Government for inaction against Private hospitals

Hyderabad(Hyd): The Telangana (TL) High Court on Tue. expressed shock over COVID-19 tests not being held in Gandhi Hospital (3) in Hyderabad(Hyd) in spite of being the nodal center for COVID-19 medication within the state.

Awhile hearing the petitions on the carry out of COVID-19 tests & medication being given to infection sufferers, the court instructed the Govt to carry out COVID-19 tests in Gandhi Hospital (3) too.

The High Court(H.C) also recommended to the govt to regulate the private hospitals with the powers bestowed to it by this Central govt.

In observation, the court has also inquired the state govt what action was nitiated over 2 corporate hospitals namely Yashoda & KIMS hospitals that have taxed the COVID-19 sufferers with hefty invoices of INR four lakhs.

A bench of Chief Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan also instructed the govt to fix a cap on charges for everyone types of tests in private diagnostic centers.

Apart from this, it’s also recommended to the govt to extensively publicize the availability of berths & ventilators in hospitals. In the other observation, the state govt has been also inquired in case of medication for COVID-19 is also finished in the ESI Hospital (3) in Nacharam.

In this connection, the High Court has instructed the state govt to submit an elaborated record on this by Jul 27.
