Lalu seeks bail ahead of Bihar Assembly elections

Ranchi: Jailed previous Bihar(BR) CM & Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad has applied for bail within the Chaibasa treasury fraudulent withdrawal complaint within the run-up to the Bihar(BR) Assembly polls.

On Sat. the RJD chief met political chiefs in the paying ward of Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) where he’s undergoing medication.

Lalu Prasad has applied for bail within the Jharkhand(JH) High Court. Previously, he were granted bail in 3 fodder scam instances.

As per Lalu’s lawyer, he’s applied for bail on the field that he’s spent half of the prison term in jail. Lalu was in custody from Dec 23, 2017, after his own conviction in 3 various instances linked to the fodder scam. He has been granted provisional bail for medication in May 2018 that has been thereafter postponed by this Jharkhand(JH) High Court(H.C). He was undergoing medication in RIMS from Aug 2018.

“The Bihar(BR) Assembly polls are critical for the RJD’s survival. Lalu can’t bank on his own 2 sons Tej Pratap & Tejashwi Yadav for the elections. The RJD didn’t manage to secure a single seat in Bihar(BR) within the Lok Sabha polls that has been humiliating for the party,” stated a RJD leader to IANS.

In 2015 Nitish Kumar, presently CM of Bihar(BR), & Lalu Prasad had joined hands for the Assembly polls & won over 150 of the 240 seats. Nitish Kumar, although, parted ways from that RJD after 1 & a half yrs. in 2017.
