Man held for robbing mobile phone of his wife

The charged was detected as Vinod, a native of south-west Delhi(DL)’s Badarpur, they stated.

He has been previously engaged in 51 various instances, involving robbery, snatching & theft, police officer said.

The person & his own spouse were residing apart for the past 5 to 6 mos.

The charged had moved to Faridabad in Haryana(HR), a Sr. police official stated.

On Thu., a lady called Nisha, also a native of Badarpur, registered a case that a person with knife in his own hand had entered her home forcibly & robbed her smart phone.

Thereafter, she stated her spouse Vinod had robbed her phone. She also stated Vinod had also threatened her with dire implications, police officer said.

“Police got (1) info that Vinod has been witnessed in Basantpur in Faridabad & he has been apprehended after a trap has been laid near Lakhpat Colony,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (south-east) R P Meena stated.

Throughout interrogation, Vinod informed the police that he with his own associates Chandan, Rajesh & Ravi habituated to steal mobile phones in buses.

They habituated to gather in Nehru Place bus terminal & board buses. During this journey, they stole mobile phones from passengers. After stealing the phones, they habituated to de-board the bus & flee in an auto-rickshaw driven by Rajesh, Meena stated.

They habituated to sell the phones in Punjab(PB) & WP, police officer said.

He furthermore stated after his own spouse left him, he wanted to teach her a lesson & robbed her smart phone. He also sent a photo with a knife to threaten her, the DCP stated.

1 knife & 12 mobile phones were recovered from his own ownership, police added further.
