Plank: 62-year-old sets Guinness World Record by holding plank for over 8 hours

It’s an amazing feat considering any age. George Hood, aged 62 sets the male world record for staying the longest time in the abdominal plank position and says he’s in the greatest period of his life.

On February 15, Hood held a board for 2 hours, 15 minutes and 15 seconds, which Guinness World Records supported was the brand new album.

The feminine album is now held by Dana Glowacka from Canada, who held that board for 4 hours, 19 minutes and 55 seconds this past year, according to Guinness World Records.

Hood, a former US Marine and retired Drug Enforcement Administration supervisory special agent, has broken the record for maximum board earlier, in 2011 if he held it for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

However, when he attempted to place it in 2016, he dropped to Mao Weidong out of China, which held that board for 2 hours 1 minute and one second.

Hood, of Naperville, Illinois, said that he had been determined to recover his name. He trained daily for a mean of 7 hours to the 18 months leading up to the moment.

“It is 4-5 hours every day at the board present,” Hood told CNN. “Then I really do 700 pushups each day, 2,000 situps each day at sets of a hundred, 500 leg squats daily. For upper body and the arms, I really do roughly 300 arm curls per day.”

In general, Hood failed around 2,100 hours of planking to get ready for the occasion, according to Guinness World Records.
