Pop Smoke: Rising Rap Star Pop Smoke Shot Dead in Hollywood Hills

A crowd of people, in which one wearing a mask with a handgun, rushed into a posh Hollywood Hills home early Wednesday(19 February 2024) and brutally shot (opened fire on) raising rap star Pop Smoke, police said.

Los Angeles Police Dept. detectives were still trying to figure out the reason behind the attack, which shocked the rap world and alerted an outburst of grief from fans.

“There is a lot of information available,” stated LAPD Capt. Jonathan Tippet. “We have some work to do.”

Officers responded after a person calling out of the East Coast reported that many individuals had entered their friend’s house shortly before 5 a.m., stated LAPD Capt. Steve Lurie.

When officers arrived in the 2.5-million house in the 2000 block of Hercules Drive, they discovered that the 20-year-old rapper, whose legal name is Bashar Barakah Jackson, together with gunshot wounds.

He had been taken to a hospital. They were published, although people were detained by officers within the home. At least four suspects fled the scene, and police say they have yet to be found.

An evaluation is underway in the Hollywood Hills, where Pop Smoke was fatally shot Wednesday morning.

Researchers suspect the assailants targeted the house where the rapper stayed. Los Angeles houses are home invasions’ goals, based on law enforcement resources.

Researchers understand that the rapper might have posted a picture on networking with the property’s speech, the sources stated.

Officials had tied pop Smoke into the Crips street gang, and detectives guessed the assailants were gang members.

Pictures and movies on Pop Smoke’s Instagram narrative showed him L.A. getting a vest Tuesday and posing from the infinity pool at the back of their Hollywood Hills house where he had been staying. Out of what seemed to be the backyard of the home he published a photograph of the Los Angeles skyline.

The Hollywood Hills house is possessed by Teddi Mellencamp of”The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” along with her husband, Edwin Arroyave, according to real estate records. Mellencamp composed she had been educated about the shooting Wednesday.

“Foremost, we’d like to expand our prayers and condolences to the family members and loved ones impacted by this dreadful loss of life,” she wrote.

The rapper’s death came after his next mixtape, “Meet with the Woo two,” debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard Top 200 list. His breakthrough mixtape, “Meet with the Woo,” published this past year, has 280 million flows globally.

Pop Smoke has been signed via Victor Victor Worldwide into Republic Records, according to the tag.

“We’re devastated by the sudden and tragic lack of Pop Smoke,” a Republic Records spokesperson said Wednesday. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones, fans and friends, as we mourn this loss collectively.”
