to capitalize on the sporting talent within the nation, 2,932 athletes within the Khelo India(In) Scheme & 10,248 athletes under different SAI sports promotional schemes were selected for furthermore training to excel in domestic & Intl. competitions.
The athletes were selected within the component ‘Talent Search & Development (devt)’ of the Khelo India(In) Scheme of Ministry of Teenager Affairs & Sports (MYAS).
The selection of all athletes is carried out according to competitive performance & assessments made using a scientifically designed battery of tests. The selection is not finished state-wise, stated the officer PIB declare.
Also, within the schemes of the Dept. of Sports, the detected assuring sportspersons & groups going to also be given help of modern sports science, exposure abroad under experts of respective sports discipline, & they all going to be permitted to attend in Intl. events.
