Swara Bhasker: ‘Rasbhari’ Reflects Hypocrisy of Repressive Society

Mumbai (Bombay): Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker states her latest web show “Rasbhari” reflects important problems of the community, like “hypocrisy of a repressive community & patriarchy’s fundamental fear of female sexuality”.

The show reports a love post set in Meerut. Swara plays the character of a stern English teacher who’s the object of attraction for Nand (Ayushmaan Saxena).

“The interesting part regarding the show is that it comes as a breath of new air on the digital platform that has plenty of dark content.

Awhile on 1 hand it’ll entertain & has a lighter vein, on the different hand and also reflects some of the quite important problems within the community that we don’t debate aloud,” Swara stated.

“Like adolescent sexuality, the hypocrisy of a repressive community & patriarchy’s basic fear of female sexuality. However all this is reported & portrayed in a fun way. I hope citizens enjoy it as much as I enjoyed essaying these characters,” she added further.

The TV show streams on Amazon Prime Video footage.
