Hyderabad(Hyd), September 18 : Police in Hyderabad(Hyd) have detained 3 youths for blackmailing a Class 10 lady after befriending her over social media(SM).
The charged have been detained by Malkajgiri police under Cyberabad police commissionerate limits after a case has been registered by this lady’s family (4).
As per police, the lady’s parents had just recently purchased her a smartphone to participate on-line lessons. She initiated chatting with the 3 teenager on Instagram.
The charged, all minors, had also met the lady & taken some photographs & made some of the video clips. After some days, they initiated blackmailing her by threatening to upload the video clips & photographs on social media(SM).
A police official stated the lady were accepting their own insists for amount. “They received INR 1.13 lakh from her & spent the amount. The lady also gave them 1 iPhone. We’ve recovered the phone. They have been insisting extra amount & even a two-wheeler from her,” he stated.
The lady’s family (4) grew doubtful when the youths had come to their own house. They questioned the lady, who disclosed the overall daily episode. The family (4) registered a case with the police, that taken up interrogations & detained the trio.
As per police, the charged aren’t friends & are locals of various regions in this city. 1 of them is a two-wheeler mechanic.
Police have advised parents granting smartphones to kids for on-line lessons to keep an eye on just how they’re being utilized.
