TikTok on mission to ‘eliminate hate’, bans 1300 accounts

Washington(WA): TikTok banned about 1300 accounts for violating the regulations over hateful content (or) behaviour.

And also removed over 380, 000 video clips on Thu.. Aside from it, the video footage spreading application also eliminated 64, 000 comments.

Announcement of TikTok US head of safety

In a blog post, TikTok US head of safety Eric Han stated, “These numbers don’t reflect a 100 per cent success rate in catching each piece of hateful content (or) behaviour, however they accomplish indicate our dedication to action”.

He added further that the application has a zero-tolerance stance over accounts related to white nationalism, male supremacy, anti-Semitism, and so on.

Executive order

Just recently, US President Donald Trump has released an executive order to direct China-based ByteDance to sell its TikTok business within the US in 90 days.

“There is reliable proof that leads me to believe that ByteDance might take (2) action that warns to impair the domestic security of the United States,” Trump wrote within the order released on Fri..

The previously executive order from Trump prohibited the China-based firm from doing business with the US companies after 45 days.

TikTok threatened legal action

TikTok has already threatened legal action over the 1st executive order.

The new executive order instructed ByteDance to “divest any statistics it collected from consumers of TikTok (or) Musical.ly within the United States”.

And also authorised US authorities to inspect TikTok & ByteDance to make sure the safety of personal statistics of nearly 80 mln American consumers of the short video footage creating application.
