The incident occurred on Fri. night, they stated.
The sufferer, who works as a tourist guide-cum-booking middleman, has been reached by this charged who named her to the restaurant on the pretext of granting her loan in subsidized rates, police officer said.
The lady has been reportedly gang-raped by this charged inside the restaurant room. She reached police with her case on Sat., a Sr. police official stated.
On the basis of her case, a complaint has been lodged in Connaught Place Police Station under IPC Segment 376D (gang-rape), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing wound), & 34 (acts finished by multiple people in furtherance of common ambition) over 6 people, involving a lady.
“One such charged, Manoj Sharma, a native of Malviya Nagar, was detained in connection with the incident,” Eish Singhal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi(DL)) stated.
Sharma is a contractor by profession, the official stated.
The police official stated the room where the offence occurred has been booked within the name of 2 businessmen.
Furthermore inquiry is in progress & measures are being made to detain the different charged, he added further.
