US-China Tensions: ‘This is the start of a new Cold War,’ says former Trump trade official

Raising tensions b/w the U.S. & China — made worse by the COVID-19 pandemic — is the start of a fresh Cold War, ex-top White Home trade negotiator Clete Willems stated Tuesday.

“The reality is which tensions between the u.s. & China are raising considerably in the moment,” Willems, a former deputy director from that National Economic Council, informed CNBC’s “Squawk Box Asia.”

“I really know citizens gain uncomfortable from the terminology, however, I accomplish to think we have already to soon be honest & call this what it is & this is the start of a fresh Cold War & in case we’re not alert, things can gain much, much worse,” he added further.

Among the recent controversies between Washington & Beijing is the origin from that COVID-19, that has infected over 3 million citizens & murdered more than 250,000 across 187 nations & territories, as per data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.

The infection 1st appeared in the Chinese city of Wuhan prior to spreading worldwide — & there’s been growing outrage world-wide more than just how China handled its outburst.
