Waqf Board foils bid to demolish 400-yr-old mosque at Shamsabad

Hyderabad(Hyd): Domestic Highway Authority authorities attempted to demolish Noori mosque in Shamsabad, Ranga reddy dist.. Although Telangana (TL) Waqf Board chairman Mohammed Saleem foiled the trying & alerted the authority over such attempts in a letter sent to the project director. Residents complained that the authorities of NHA have been trying to demolish the mosque within the name of road widening.

Waqf board had just recently named a gathering with the authorities in connection with the protection of ancient mosque. They made it evident that no place of worship can be acquired for road widening & Waqf Board must were consulted before involving the Waqf land within the schedule.

Shooting a letter to the project director using Chief Executive Official, Waqf Board chairman insisted protection of Masjid-e-Noori.

The ancient mosque is located in Sedanti village of Shamsabad that is stated to be reported within the gazette. Waqf Board is getting ready Waqf & revenue report so that it’s submitted to the NHA authorities.

Apart from Masjid committee, Congress leader Osman Mohammed Khan & chairman Congress minority dept. Sameer Waliullah inspected the mosque & condemned attempts to demolish 400-year-old mosque.

Masjid committee president Mohammed Obaid & different committee members apprised Congress chiefs of the status.

Waqf Board chairman has instructed revenue & police authorities to portray the complaint.

Congress chiefs stated in case any damage is finished to the mosque their own party going to phase a dissent.
